Deeply and lovingly missed by his wife Lady Joy, also by his children Julie, husband John, Howard, wife Philippa, Allyson, husband Conor and Aileen and husband Scott, also by his grandchildren Gareth, Jessica, Ailsa, Matthew, Rachel, Heather, Kyle, Oliver, Caitlin, also Cameron and Evie.

A Celebration for Sir William's life will be held on Friday 5th January 2018 at 3.00 p.m. in St. Anne's Cathedral, Belfast.

Sir William was President of The Northern Ireland Polio Fellowship and always took a very active role in everything the Fellowship did. He will be sorely missed .Deepest sympathy to his wife Lady Joy Hastings and his children.

As a polio survivor I will always be grateful for his encouragement and support over many years.
