17th March 2018 Peacefully at hospital in his 85th year, after a short illness, bravely fought. Late of Stoneyford Road, Lisburn. Loving and much loved husband of Elizabeth (Betty), devoted father to Catherine and fiancé Mark, Barry and Matthew, dear father-in-law to Lorna and Martine and a proud grandfather of Callum, Luke, Katie, Jordan, Jamie and Anna.

Funeral service and committal at Roselawn Crematorium on Thursday 22nd March at 5.00pm.

House private.

We will always remember Walter as kind and generous man, with an open hearted and ready laugh. A very handsome and dashing man who seemed to embody the standards of an older and more gracious way of life.
Our father, Paddy, it has to be admitted, was often caustic about his in laws, but in Walter’s case, he only ever had good things to say, a remarkable feat indeed and of course, our mother, Emily, loved Walter and Betty. I am sure you are all very sad indeed to lose him but what a great father to have had in your life and I am sure wonderful memories to comfort you all.
