Aaron Leonard

The parents Mary and John, brother Oisín, and the extended Leonard and Harkin families of the late Aaron Leonard wish to express our deepest thanks to all who supported us through the heartbreaking loss of our dearly beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, godfather, friend, and colleague.

We are profoundly grateful to our extended family, friends, neighbours, and the wider community for their kindness – for the many Mass and sympathy cards, countless messages of condolence, and every act of thoughtfulness. We deeply appreciate all who travelled, whether from nearby or across great distances, to be with us at this most difficult time.

Our sincere thanks to all who visited the wake and attended the funeral, and to all who brought food or offered practical help, whether family, friends, neighbours, or local businesses (Lily Annes, MacNean House, Solas, Customs House, Route 16 Café) – your presence and care meant so much. We are also especially grateful to Aaron’s many friends, whose love, loyalty, and support have been a great comfort to us, and whose memories and stories have helped us keep Aaron’s spirit alive. Special thanks to the Mullaghdun Community Association for providing refreshments and the use of the hall, as well as to the ushers and parking attendants whose assistance eased the day for our family. It was deeply moving to see Guards of Honour from Belcoo GAA and from his colleagues and clients at KC Fitness, and to have members of neighbouring clubs Bellanaleck, Derrygonnelly, and Drumkeeran attend the wake in their club colours to pay their respects.

We wish to thank Paschal Conway Funeral Directors for their professionalism and respectful handling of all arrangements, as well as the gravediggers, sacristan, and flower arrangers. Our heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Seamus Quinn for his support, guidance, and for celebrating such a beautiful Funeral Mass, assisted by Fr. Thomas McGlynn and Fr. Niall Martin. Thank you also to the talented choir of family and friends whose music so meaningfully honoured Aaron’s memory, and to the Eucharistic Ministers.

We would especially like to thank all who helped in the search for Aaron, with particular appreciation to the emergency services, and especially the members of the Search and Rescue teams who so willingly gave of their free time to carry out such invaluable work. The generosity of spirit shown by our neighbours and community is something we will never forget.

As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere gratitude from the entire family during this sad and difficult time.

Aaron’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, Mullaghdun, on Sunday 24th August 2025 at 11am. All are welcome.

May Aaron’s gentle soul rest in peace.
