Acknowledgement - Ann Scallon, formerly of 22 Scallen Road, Irvinestown. Died 28th October 2024.
We, the family of the late Ann Scallon, would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
Ann was a widely respected lady, dearly loved wife of the late Alo Scallon, mother of Francis, Kevin, Conor and Elizabeth, sister of the late Catherine McGale and William Ward, grandmother and great-grandmother.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the staff of Meadowview Care Home and The Tilery Care Home who cared for Ann over the last number of years.
Thank you to Canon Duffy and Canon McGourty for their help and guidance in the days prior to Ann’s death, and a special thanks for the beautiful requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation to the sacristan and everyone who took part in the liturgy; the readers, Eucharist ministers and gift bearers. Thanks to Ann’s grandchildren Eilís, Dearbhla, Brónach, Ursula and Aoibhinn for their beautiful singing throughout the Mass and at the graveside, and to Eamon McGarrity for his musical accompaniment. We thank everyone for the Guard of Honour when entering and leaving the church.
Thank you to Claude and Patsy of Claude McKervey Funeral Directors who ensured the funeral arrangements were carried out with dignity and respect. Also, to Timothy, Rodney, Diarmuid and Tomás for preparing Ann’s final resting place.
Thanks to Sharon’s Kitchen for providing refreshments in Saint Molaise Hall after the funeral, and during the wake. Thanks to Irvinestown Scouts for the use of the premises, and our beloved Saint Molaise Football Club for providing tables and chairs.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Ann is loved and missed every day. May her gentle kind soul be granted peace and eternal rest.
Ann’s months mind Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church Irvinestown on Saturday 30th November at 6pm.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for her.
