Barbara Kernaghan THOMPSON (née McCarter)

Passed away peacefully in hospital on 12th March 2023. Dearly beloved Wife of the late Sidney Thompson, devoted Mother of Alison, Nigel and Garth, loving Mother-in-law of Anthony, Tammy and Jill, much cherished Granny to Matthew, Emma, Rebecca, Alexander, Rachel, Nicole, Haley, Faith and Great Granny to Eliana. Dearly loved Sister to Albert, Robert and the late Ernest, Sister-in-law to Audrey, Kathleen and Susan.

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at Seymour Street Methodist Church, Lisburn, on Thursday 16th March 2023 at 11:30am, followed by burial in Lisburn New Cemetery (Blaris).

The Family is extremely grateful to the Care Agencies, Connected Health, Nursing & Caring Direct and Trust Domiciliary Services, who took care of Barbara at home during her illness; to the Parkinson’s and Care of the Elderly teams; and most recently to the Doctors, Nurses and the Care team in the Lagan Valley Hospital.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all her family and friends; she will live on in our hearts, and we cherish our memories of her gentle nature, warm smile and passion for gardening.
