KELLY

We, the family of the late Barney John (BJ) Kelly RIP, would like to thank all who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement.

Our special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful Southern Trust team of carers who looked after BJ so tenderly and with dignity and respect over the last 2 years. He adored you all and the joy you brought into his home. To his night sitters - Selina, Martina and Anne Marie - for keeping him company and ensuring his safety throughout the night. To all the community professionals who looked after him and enabled him to live at home - his Parkview GPs, district nurses, physios, OTs, dieticians, speech & language therapists and Jennifer at Newell Rd Medicare Pharmacy. To the Southern Trust acute care team who attended diligently to BJ when he most needed medical attention. To the staff of Ward 2 North, Craigavon Area Hospital (CAH), who cared for BJ in his final 4 days of life.
Thank you to all who provided spiritual support and pastoral care to BJ - Fr P Breslin who visited him monthly; Fr P McGuckin, his long-time and loyal friend; Fr C Murphy, hospital chaplain; Fr G Carvill and Fr Ajoe who visited him in hospital; Fr B Slater for his support to the family and especially to Fr D Moore for his celebration of Requiem Mass and the poignant, personal homily he gave. Grateful thanks to Caoimhe Loughran, Rory Madden and Kevin Hurson for the uplifting musical tribute and hymns during Mass. To Galbally Pearses GAC; Paddington Playgroup; St Joseph's PS; and Community Centre Committee for their guards of honour. A special thanks to the Sacristan and the grave diggers.

We deeply appreciated the many people who attended and helped out at BJ's wake. Those who travelled long distances, brought or sent Mass & Sympathy cards, floral tributes, gifts of food, served refreshments, assisted with car parking and to KC Marquees. To our kind neighbours and friends who helped in so many ways. To Galbally Community Centre for the use of their premises.

Finally, to the undertaker, Paudge Quinn, for the dignified and sensitive way in which the funeral arrangements were conducted.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.

BJ's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 15th August 2025 at 7.30pm in St John the Baptist Church, Galbally. The Mass will be available via webcam.
