Barney Glass, Greencastle, Co. Tyrone who died 19th June 2026.
The family of the late Barney Glass RIP, wish to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported and sympathised with us on our recent bereavement.
A very much loved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle and friend.
Thank you to our extended family, friends, neighbours, and everyone who attended the wake or funeral, sent mass/sympathy cards, flowers, telephoned, posted tributes online, helped in preparations for the wake, the individuals and businesses who brought food, those who helped with tea, provided lighting and assisted with car parking.
Thank you to the Coyle family for the use of their field for parking and to the Morris Brothers for their marquee. Sincere thanks to the staff of Sperrin Family Practice for their care over the years and to Cathal Finlay for his support and kindness.
To the carers who supported Barney in his home and to the staff at Gortmore Day Centre, we would also like to thank the carers and staff of Slieve Na Mon Nursing Home who cared for Barney and who provided such respect and passion in his final days.
To Father Roland Colhoun, The Legion of Mary and Father James Devine for their visits to Barney, for their spiritual guidance and support to the family.
A special word of thanks to Father Colhoun for the heartfelt and comforting requiem mass.
To Jackie Fox and Eamon Donnelly for the very moving music and singing which greatly enhanced the funeral mass. To all those who helped in making the funeral mass so special, including the personal touches that reflected Barney's life and the beautiful mass booklets.
We would also like to thank Philip Morris and Leo Donaghy for the sensitive, professional and dignified manor in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thank you also to the grave diggers for preparing Barney's final resting place.
We are truly grateful for all the support and kindness we have received during this difficult time. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a gesture of our appreciation.
Barney's month's mind mass will be celebrated on Monday 20th July 2026 at 7.30pm in St Patrick's Church, Greencastle.
May Barney's gentle soul, rest in peace.
