The death has occurred of:
Benedict J. (Benny) Martin
The family of the late Benny would like to extend our deep gratitude to the generosity of relatives, friends, neighbours and the local - and wider - community during his illness and death.
We thank all those who visited and phoned Benny at home and in hospital. You brought him much comfort and solace. We thank Fr. Garrett Campbell for his prayers at Mass and the prayers of the Collegeland parishioners.
We thank the doctors in Moy Health Centre and the staff in Craigavon Area Hospital for their care and compassion.
A special thank you to Patrick (Paudge) Quinn, Funeral Director, for his immediate support and guidance and who conducted the funeral with sensitivity and discretion. We thank too Jacqui, Kevin and Pat for the tender care they showed Benny in preparation for the wake and during the funeral.
We thank Fr. Thomas McHugh for his guidance and empathy prior to Benny’s funeral and his tribute to Benny at the Requiem Mass and later, his presence at internment.
We thank all those who attended Benny’s wake, brought Mass and sympathy cards (and those who sent cards) expressing their condolences and for the many who shared memories of Benny. It was more than heartening. We thank, in particular, the Logan family, Dungannon, who tirelessly looked after everyone during the two day wake. Your presence was indispensable.
We thank all those who attended the funeral to offer their condolences, especially those who travelled a distance. We very much appreciated seeing you.
We thank Siobhán Robinson for her friendship and beautiful singing and music during the Requiem Mass.
We thank Gabrielle for preparing the Church before the funeral.
We thank Brian, Davy and Kevin Nugent for preparing the grave.
A thank you to those who, as a mark of respect, stood along the route as the hearse was travelling through Charlemont and Moy.
We thank Marian and the staff at the Ryandale Hotel, who provided a lovely meal after the funeral.
We will be forever grateful to all the above and offer our heartfelt thanks.
Benny’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Garrett Campbell at 7pm on Friday 21st November in St. Peter’s Church, Collegeland. He will offer that Mass up for the intentions of all of the above-mentioned.
