Bernadette Mc Philomey – Acknowledgement

We, the family of the late Bernadette Mc Philomey, wish to express our heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to all who supported, sympathised and prayed for us during our recent sad bereavement. Bernie was a devoted family person, cherished wife of the late Thomas Mc Philomey, dearly beloved mother of Moira (Jim), John, Anne (Michael) and Barry (Carmel), and a loving grandmother to her twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Our sincere thanks to all who attended Bernie’s wake and funeral, travelled long distances to lend their support, brought food and sent flowers, sympathy and mass cards. Thanks also to our neighbours, friends and relatives who generously gave their time to visit Bernie over the years. We are incredibly touched by your kindness and generosity.
We wish to express our appreciation to the carers who looked after Bernie in her home, to the staff at Hillcrest Care home, Three Spires Surgery, the District Nursing team, the staff of Wards 1 and 7 of the South West Acute Hospital and the Palliative Care Nurses. We wish also to thank Monsignor O’Reilly for visiting Bernie in hospital in her final days.
A special note of thanks also to Fr Kevin McElhennon for his spiritual support and comforting Requiem mass. We appreciate the time and effort put into preparing the beautiful homily shared. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan, all who took part in the liturgy and the musicians James Mc Shane and Joan Mc Crystal for the beautiful reverent and uplifting music.
We are deeply grateful to Donaghy & Montague Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thank you for being a source of comfort and strength for the family during this difficult time. Thanks also to the gravediggers for preparing Bernie’s final resting place, to Floral Temptations for the beautiful floral tribute and to Mc Ginns for providing the welcome refreshments following the funeral.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Bernie is loved and missed every day. May her passionate, kind and generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest.
Bernie’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 26th July at 11:15am in St Mary’s Church, Killyclogher. Our Lady pray for her.
