The wife and family of the late Charlie Ward, 6 Sandringham Drive, Prehen (formerly Dunamanagh), who died on 31st January 2022 would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them on their recent sad bereavement.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many relatives, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake and funeral and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, mass and sympathy cards and messages of condolence, we are truly grateful.

A special word of thanks to the Green Lane staff at Cornfield Care Centre, Limavady for the genuine love, care and attention which they always provided to our father over the past four and a half years.

We extend our thanks also to the staff in the Accident & Emergency department at Altnagelvin Area Hospital especially Gilbert and Michael for their help in ensuring that daddy had a peaceful and dignified passing.

Sincere thanks to Fr Michael Canny PP Glendermott parish, Fr Eamon McDevitt PP St Patrick’s, Killenagh, Fr Malachy Gallagher CC Melmount parish, Strabane and Fr Noel McDermott PP Faughanvale parish for visiting our home during the wake, praying with us and providing spiritual support. Thank you also to Fr Eamon McDevitt for allowing us to bury our father in his native Dunamanagh.

We would especially like to thank Fr Sean O’Donnell CC Glendermott parish for the beautiful requiem mass which he offered for daddy and the kindness, support and friendship offered to us throughout the wake and funeral.

A word of thanks also to those who provided the music and singing during the mass and also to the grave digger who prepared daddy’s final resting place.

Thank you to Kieran and the staff at WJ O’Brien Funeral Directors, Eglinton for the professional, dignified and sensitive way in which they managed the funeral arrangements.

To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as an expression of our most heartfelt and sincere appreciation.

Charlie’s month’s mind mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Killenagh, Dunamanagh on Saturday 5th March at 6.30 pm.
