Phyllis McAlister, the mother of the late Ciaran McAlister, and family wish to express their gratitude for the sympathy and kind support they received during their recent bereavement. We would especially like to thank our cousins Una and Anne, our extended family, friends, neighbours and all who travelled to attend the wake and funeral. To all those who sent messages via social media and for everyone’s kind words of condolences along with mass and sympathy cards, thank you.

A special thanks to the Marie Curie nurse’s, the staff in Ward 40 at Altnagelvin Hospital and the Foyle Hospice for their dedication and compassionate care. To Dr P Doherty for his care and support during Ciaran’s illness.

Thank you to Fr Paul Farren of St Eugenes Cathedral, Fr Daniel McFaul, and Fr Shaun Doherty for a beautiful and touching mass. To the St Eugenes adult choir, who Ciaran was a valued member of, for their beautiful, serene singing and to all those who participated in the service. To the Irish Red Cross for their tribute and guard of honour at the service.

To Ciaran’s work colleagues, the members of the Judiciary and Legal profession at Bishop Street Court House and those throughout the court service in Northern Ireland for their respectful tribute.

To WJ O’Brien & Sons funeral directors in the dignified way in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the management and staff of the Don Bar and their clientele for their support during the wake and after the funeral. To the Pickled Duck and Sandwich Company for the food at the wake and their messages of condolences.

As it is impossible to thank everyone Individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of the family’s deep appreciation. Everyone’s thoughts, prayers and overall display of compassion has helped us at this difficult time.

The Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 18th February at 12.30pm, St Eugenes Cathedral.
