MCCAVANA, COLUM - Died 29th September 2024.
Much loved husband of Rita, father of Louise, Christopher and Suzanne, father-in-law to John, Sinead, Hugo and grandfather to Luke, Cara, Eva, Cillian and Ronan. Brother to Nuala, Peter, Christine, Teresa, Frances and Gerard.

Colum will be reposing at O’Kanes, 2 St. Jude’s Avenue, Belfast BT7 2GZ. Family will be in attendance on Wednesday 2nd October between 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

On Thursday 3rd October Colum will be brought home. Visitors welcome 6.00pm – 8.30pm. House private to family after 8.30pm.

Funeral will take place on Friday 4th October at 3.00pm in the Good Shepherd Church, 503 Ormeau Road, Belfast, followed by Cremation at 4.40pm in Roselawn Crematorium.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to Cancer Research UK.

My heartfelt sympathy to Rita, Louise, Christopher, Susan and family for the loss of their husband and father, Colum. I was blessed to be able to witness the funeral services here in Oregon via the church internet link and appreciated hearing about Colum’s life. I was enriched by knowing him via employment at Hyster and numerous visits to Northern Ireland in the 1980’s and 90’s. Colum was, as mentioned, a talented engineer with a wealth of knowledge. It was always my pleasure to visit with he and Rita in their home. Their warmth and true genuineness were always evident. I regret that we lost touch in the later years of his life.
