We only met John on a few occasions but our impression was that of a good man. We never forgot his gift to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul after we had purchased a car. We met his daughter Shona on a few occasions and it was clear she greatly loved her dad. We knew that John was suffering from cancer but expected him to recover. Our deepest sympathy to his wife, son and daughters especially Shona.
