I was privileged to have had Alan as a close childhood chum but we lost contact with each other for many years only to meet up again almost two years ago. We began a series of walks or day trips with my cousin Stephen to various locations - meetings that swiftly became a significant highlight of each passing month for me. Alan was still essentially the wise, charming and entertaining friend that I had known so long ago and I was both touched and delighted that he had initiated our reunion after so many years. Thank you so much for enriching my life Alan, I will miss you dearly.
