Latest Sympathy Notices

I offer my sincere sympathy to Yvonne's family at this time of great loss.
As my line manager at the former WELB Yvonne taught me so much, not only about the
job in hand, but also about living life and how important work/life balance is.
She was a true professional in every way and set herself and her staff high standards. However, it was the empathy which she had with her staff that set her amongst the very best of leaders.
Yvonne had the ability to give her staff the capacity to lead and further improve high standards of teaching and learning in schools, in the area of Literacy, and built up their confidence in a subtle way. Her love of Literacy was evident and when in the classroom she could engage and enthuse every pupil regardless of ability.
She was vibrant, full of fun and humour and always looked amazing.
Travelling with her to and from various schools in the West was always something to look forward to. The conversation was stimulating and there were always lots of laughs.
We will most of all miss her friendship and caring disposition.
Yvonne, may you rest in peace.
