Latest Sympathy Notices

To Eilis and Family,

We are so sad and shocked to hear the news about Hugh. There was a time when we seemed to follow in your wake to unusual holiday destinations; Peru, Vietnam.....back in the day when we sat near each other in work. Then the time when he put us all (men anyway) to sartorial shame at the Vineyard’s wine tasting dinner in the Great Room at the Merchant. We just can’t believe it. You are very much in our thoughts at this sad, sad time. Wednesday 08 July 2020 John & Rosemary

Sincerest sympathy from a long time colleague at Shorts/Bombardier/Thales

Hugh was a true gentleman and an inspiration to those of us less physically energetic

Sorry I was unable to pay my respects in person Wednesday 08 July 2020 Lawrence McCullough - Thales

Hugh and I were close friends in St Mary's CBGS all those years ago. We often sat together in class, knock around together talking nonsense during lunchtimes and after school we'd often get kitted out in our white singlets, shorts and gutties and race up Hannahstown Hill (Hugh beat me more often than I beat him). In the many years since, we'd occasionally bump into each other on bikes along the towpath or occasionally in the scramble to order a pint and share ten minutes of the old nonsense again.
Lovely guy, he'll be missed. Tuesday 07 July 2020 Kevin Morgan

It was a pleasure and a joy to know you Hugh. You will be missed but never forgotten. We will see you down the road a little. Monday 06 July 2020 Love from Glenn and Aislin Simpson.

I can’t begin to express my sadness at the loss of this most lovely man. A favourite friend of my dear father, Benny Urquhart. Before they cycled, they ran, and ran... every weekend for decades... enjoying the countryside and the company.
Sending so much love to family and friends- remember the good times. Xx Monday 06 July 2020 Gail Fleming and Family
