Our old and trusted friend
Sadly missed
Eileen and Robert Finch Thursday 24 September 2020 Dr Robert Finch and Eileen

John was the kindest man with the gentlest spirit and the strongest light. I am so grateful to have called him "Godfather" and that I can still call Mary "Godmother".
I cherish the time John and I spent together, driving from coast to coast as he shared memories and taught me my history and his. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge and quick to teach and laugh and listen.
He welcomed me into his world after many years of not seeing him with open arms and a caring heart. Perhaps the greatest compliment was when one Christmas, he told me with a smile, "You're not my Louise, but you'll do!"
I will miss his "Devlin-isms" and his stories and his kindness. He and Mary were my closest relatives when I was far from home and their love and warmth made the distance manageable.
In times of struggle, I have often heard John's voice in my head, telling me in his comforting brogue, "Go forward with pride!" And so we shall. I was grateful to have John in my life and truly blessed to call him family. Thursday 24 September 2020 Love, Charlotte Rose in NYC

Our deepest condolences to Mary, Louise and family on your very sad loss. John Devlin RIP.
God saw the road was getting rough.
The hills were hard to climb.
He gently closed his weary eyes,
and whispered peace by thine. Thursday 24 September 2020 Niall Bell and family Manchester.
