John's death has made us very sad. He lost the fight against cancer although he was a guy like a tree. If the fight had been fought mentally, he would have left the ring as the winner.
I worked with John in Germany. From the beginning we had the same interests, values and humour. John impressed me with his humble manner and taught me a lot. Nobody will take that away from me.
We met once with our wives in Munich and Martina and I always think back to this great evening with a smile.
Dear Strutt family, we are with you in our thoughts and send you our deepest sympathy. We would have liked to say goodbye personally but circumstances made this impossible.
