I wish to send my condolences to the family of William (Bill) Eames, former Chief Flying Instructor of the Ulster Flying Club. I worked with Bill for many years as his assistant, we had a great working relationship and I couldn't have wished for a more supportive colleague. Our years at the UFC were happy and memorable. On one occasion he even told me off for carrying out spins over the airfield at 2000 feet. He was nice but firm, I got the message anyway. Bill during his time at the club set a high standard for us all to aspire to. I left the club in 2000 and went to work in Scotland. Every time I was home Bill would say I would take you back at the club' but it wasn't meant to be.
His presence at the club on Sundays will be greatly missed by everyone.
