Maree was my Mother in law and Granny to Lilja and Emilia, daughters of Julia.
You marry into a family and there I have been truly blessed, especially as Maree and I got on so well.
My trips to Northern Ireland were always something to look forward to. A cup of tea and something I shouldn't really eat from the bakery would be waiting along with a warm welcome and questions about my side of the family and friends.
On evenings when Brian and Julia would go out Maree and I could catch up on a little TV and a chat and a lot of humour and good stories were told.
Maree was a devoted Grandmother to my children and whilst they are devastated at the loss they are already remembering good stories about her and marvelling at her eternally youthful outlook on life.
Maree will be sorely missed but we will continue to come to Northern Ireland, a place she held so dear and we will keep retelling stories of her and remembering many good moments together.
