Dear Mark, my Brother in Arms, Rest In Peace. Words cannot describe the loss of life of such a nice soul. We spent time during our deployment in Baghdad. There are so many good things to say about Mark, but what always gave me a big smile on my face was him telling what the specials of upcoming day in the dining facility were. He always knew them by heart and was describing the dish as a true chef and if he would cook it himself.
Thank you for your service Mark. You will be missed. Saturday 09 September 2023 Jaap, Netherlands.

So sorry to hear this news. I was Mark’s PhD supervisor when he was at Queen’s University. What a lovely guy! I really enjoyed spending time with him and our meetings often drifted off into all sorts of interesting topics. He was an enthusiastic and motivated researcher who achieved so much during his time at QUB. Friday 01 September 2023 Fraser Buchanan, Queen’s University, Belfast

We're very sorry to hear this sad news. We met Mark on only a few occasions recently for his input to our work. He was immediately a positive and thoughtful contributor, practical, and readily exchanged dits and travel stories to warm up discussions. We looked forward to working more with him, and can't even begin to understand how much he will be missed by family, friends and colleagues. So many fond memories Mark. From our final year presentation at uni on stress monitoring of aeroplane wings, to all the nights with OTC.
