As a former student of Ian’s and latterly a colleague and fellow-parent, I always deeply admired Ian, his respect for all, his gentle, considerate, enthusiasm for his work and life and family and his infectious warm humour. He made life as an undergraduate such a happy time. As I’ll be back in New Jersey, I will not be able to attend the funeral. I’m so sorry to learn of the loss of your husband, father and friend. A great loss to the whole province! Will be sorely missed.
