It is with the greatest sadness that we have heard of Billy’s sad death. A light has gone out, a light of love, affection, laughter, mischief, honesty and integrity. It was so sad and cruel to learn that his illness had returned so severely - dreadful news. However, reflecting on Billy himself - he was life itself and brought so much laughter to many. His mischievous teasing will not be forgotten as a hallmark of his laughter. I can still hear him with “Ah go on”. With Basil they were a strong super durable team and partnership that lasted the decades and from which many people can learn. They gave so much to so many as a team. Steadfast and loyal they were to each and to friends and so it has always been a privilege and honour to know them both over the decades and so sad it is now to miss Billy. May peace and rest come to you and particularly to you, Basil - you are not alone, many walk with you, even across the miles.

Mr Rea, you were always someone special, someone kind and true,
you will never be forgotten, for we thought the world of you.
Thoughts are with Basil and family at this very sad time. Xx
