We are very sad to hear that Heather had lost her final battle. She was my best friend in her years at the Rainey Endowed School during which time Martin and I became friends also with Alex, a friendship which continued after their move to Co Down. She was very much liked by staff and pupils at school as she was warm, honest and caring as well as being a very conscientious and enthusiastic teacher. She was very stoical during her illness showing great strength of character and continuing to smile and appear cheerful despite her problems.
