The death has occurred of

DAVID GEORGE WALMSLEY PhD DSc

September 30, 2017, late of Portstewart, Belfast and formerly Markethill, after a short illness, aged 79, beloved husband of Heather, and father of John, (Tracy, Sam and Ben of Victoria, Canada), and David, (Jennifer, Jack and Luke of Toronto, Canada), eldest brother to Norman, Betty (Doonan) and Lorna (Farley).
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A kindly dedicated man, he was a Professor of Physics. He also served as Dean of Science and Agriculture at Queen’s University, Belfast. He had a distinguished academic career, working previously at the New University of Ulster, Coleraine, Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell, and McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada.

Funeral Service will be on Wednesday 4, October at 12.00 noon at Church of Saint John the Evangelist, 141 Malone Road, Belfast, BT9 6SX, followed by burial at 4.00 p.m. at St John’s Parish Church, Mullabrack, Mullurg Road, Armagh, BT60 1QN.
