We, the family of the late David Elliott would like to express our heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to everyone who supported us in our recent sad loss of David.
We thank the Paramedics for their rapid response and all of the amazing Doctors and Nursing staff in ICU, Altnagelvin Hospital who cared for David over the following week with such dignity, respect and compassion and for the support they gave us as a family.
To all who visited our home, sent cards, posted online messages, brought food, flowers, gifts, to all the helpers that catered for many during the wake and to our close family, friends and neighbours who prepared the house both inside and outside in preparation, this was all greatly appreciated.
To the many people who travelled long distances to be with us from Vancouver, Liverpool, Scotland and from many parts of Northern Ireland, we won’t forget your kindness.
Massive thanks to Rev Graham Hare and Curate Alexander, St Columba’s Parish Church, Omagh for the prayers and support both at Altnagelvin Hospital and in the home and for conducting the funeral service in Omagh and in Cavan. We were so touched by Valerie’s moving Eulogy and for Mark and Judith’s readings during the funeral service. Heartfelt thanks to the organist, and to Albert Monteith and Lauren Hegarty for their lovely renditions of two of David’s favourite tunes. Grateful thanks to Ruth Monteith and team for the lovely food in the Church Hall following the service.
Words seem inadequate to express how grateful we felt that David’s work colleagues and many past colleagues from NIWater turned out to support us in such great numbers both during the wake and the funeral. We would like to thank Margaret Ross, Francie Bradley, Andrew Porter and his large NIWater Team for arranging the Tribute to David event in Loughmacrory and for the lovely and personal gifts to our family, this kindness will never be forgotten.
Thank you to Armstrong Funeral Directors for the kind, caring and compassionate way they carried out their services with such dignity and respect, we are forever grateful and deeply appreciate their kindness.
Lastly, we are blessed to have the love and support of our wonderful close family throughout our sad and difficult loss. David is deeply missed by us all as a family and we know he will be sadly missed by all his friends who were lucky enough to know him.
