Harkness- Dennis
30th October 2021

We the family, wife Elizabeth, daughter Denise, sons Nigel, Gary, Glenn, daughters-in-law and grandchildren wish to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who sympathised and supported us through our recent very sad and very sudden bereavement.
Sincere thanks to all those who sent cards, messages of condolence attended the wake or funeral, who lined the funeral route, brought food and helped serve tea.

Special thanks to all those who made donations in lieu of flowers to MAPS of West Tyrone.
We offer heartfelt thanks to the paramedics and the PSNI who attended our home, to all the Doctors at Drumragh Family Practice and to the Pharmacy staff in Boots (Omagh) whose help was very much appreciated.

We also extend our appreciation and thanks to Rev. Eleanor Hayden for the beautiful tribute celebrating Dennis’s life and for all her home visits which were much appreciated. Thanks to Betty Doonan the Organist for the lovely music.

Special thanks to the Old Comrades (6 UDR) Regimental Association and Mrs Hazel Espie (chairwoman) and all the pallbearers and standard bearers for their guard of honour at Omagh Methodist Church and at the graveside at Mountjoy Presbyterian Church.

We extend our thanks to Mountfield LOL 674 and Brackey RBP 343 for their guard of honour at the graveside. Sincere thanks to Mr Richard Scott MBE and Margo Hetherington MBE from MAPS OF West Tyrone who have supported the family at this difficult time.

We extend out thanks to Mr Richard Scott who read a lesson and for his very uplifting and personal tribute to Dennis, to his daughter Denise for the lovely poem in memory of her father and his granddaughter Danielle for reading the second lesson.

Sincere thanks to Alastair Donaghy for piping at the graveside, to the Bugler for playing the last post and to Derek Shields (chairman) and all the committee members of the Royal British Legion (Omagh) for the poppy drop and the laying of a poppy wreath at the graveside.

We also extend our thanks for providing the use of the Royal British Legion (Omagh) for refreshments and for all those that helped serve the refreshments.

To Robert and Derek Armstrong, Armstrong Funeral Directors and to the gravedigger who carried out the funeral arrangements in a caring, professional and dignified manner.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deepest gratitude and appreciation.
