Died - 20th October 2023

Eddie’s wife Annette, daughter Tara and sons Shane and Kevin wish to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who offered their condolences, sympathised with them or attended the funeral following their recent sad bereavement of a much loved husband, father and grandfather.

To those who sent floral tributes or donations in lieu of flowers, attended the wake, provided food and refreshments, sent messages of sympathy and mass cards, please be assured that your kindness was truly appreciated.

Thanks goes out to all those who shared stories and precious memories about Eddie and spoke about the truly positive influence he had on their lives.

Special thanks to the nurses who not only looked after him but became friends with Eddie and Annette, especially Fiona, Debbie, Julie Ann, Kate and Una.

Sincere thanks to Dr Brady, Dr Duddy and Lisa Harrigan - Oncology Team and all the amazing staff in Ward 50, North West Cancer Centre particularly Miriam, Debbie, John and Kathleen - Palliative Care Nurse.

Thanks to Fr Daniel Mc Faul for his beautiful eulogy and fitting tribute to Eddie, also to Fr Paul Farren and Fr Shaun Doherty from St. Eugene's Cathedral who called at the house and to Fr Lagan who visited Eddie in the hospital.

Thanks to Isobel and Erin for their beautiful singing which really enhanced the funeral mass, and to Bernadette McFarland and Ollie Green who were such good friends to Eddie for their readings.

Thanks to Mary, Joan, Grainne and Audrey for all their help with providing refreshments during the wake it was greatly appreciated by the entire family.

Thanks also to the great neighbours in Ashfield Terrace and Kerr's Terrace for all their support. To Eddie's very good friend John Keavney who provided support throughout Eddie's illness and during the wake.

Thanks to Kieran Connor from McClafferty Funeral Directors for the dignified and respectful manner in which Eddie's funeral was carried out, and finally a special thanks to the Republican Movement for honouring Eddie with the National Flag.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
