The death has occurred of:
Eithne Rainey (Killagan)
Rainey, Eithne (née Mulholland, KiIlagan), died 21 December 2024, predeceased by her husband, Seamus.
On this, the date of her birth, Eithne is remembered with love by her daughters, Marie-Thérèse and Nancy, her granddaughters, Constanza and Sofia, and her son-in-law, John (Meade), as well as by her sisters, Rosa and Attracta, and her brother, Colm, and by her wider family, friends and neighbours. We thank most sincerely for their support and kindness all those who sympathised with us, those who sent messages, condolences and Mass cards, and those who attended Eithne’s Funeral Mass. They join us in celebrating her long and courageous life and in sharing many memories. Special thanks to our neighbours and friends from Kincasslagh, Co. Donegal where she spent very many happy times with family and friends.
Our deepest gratitude to Fr. P. J. McCamphill and Fr. Liam Blayney for their friendship and comfort to Eithne over many years and for celebrating her Funeral Mass. We also thank concelebrants Fr. Tony Devlin, Parish Priest of Dunloy, and Fr. Albert McNally. Sincere thanks to Fr. Eamon Graham, Parish Priest of Lavey, who offered Mass for Eithne and said prayers in The Old Graveyard in Lavey where she now rests and to Tom McGill for his assistance.
We also thank Fr. Pat Ward (Parish Priest of Kincasslagh) who offered prayers for Eithne during their Christmas Masses.
Sincere thanks to soprano Ellen Campbell and accompanist Cindy Yung for the wonderful music, the Church sacristans, Arbutus Catering for providing refreshments and to all those who assisted in the Dunloy parish community centre.
We express heartfelt gratitude to all those who cared for Eithne in recent years. We thank her doctors in Ballymena Health & Care Centre and all in Cloughmills Pharmacy. We thank the district nurses who cared for Eithne with such diligence and expertise, as well as the Marie Curie nurses. We especially thank her treasured Homecare team who so reliably cared for Eithne with empathy and dignity, as well as with the humour and conversation which she so valued.

Above all, we thank all of you who continue to pray for Eithne – prayers were her heartfelt and only request.
