The death has occurred of:
Elizabeth (Lizzie) CANNING
We, the family of the late Elizabeth Canning late of 57 King’s Lane, Ballykelly, wish to express our sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement. Sincere thanks to those who paid their respects, sent Mass cards, sent messages and flowers. We were particularly touched by the kindness of our own family circle, our neighbours and friends and to those who called to the house. This was a great comfort to us at a very sad time.
We extend a special thanks to Mgnr McCanny and Fr Chris McDermott for their great support, kind words and meaningful Requiem Mass and to those who took part in any way. Thanks to the Chaplin in Altnagelvin Hospital Fr Daniel McFaul for his prayers and for the kindness shown to all the family. A special thank you to her granddaughter Ashleen for the beautiful singing during the funeral mass.
We wish to thank the doctors at Quinn & Brolly Medical Practice, Scroggy Road, Limavady, the staff of Ward 32 Altnagelvin Hospital and to the carers who attended her daily, for the wonderful care they all showed to Elizabeth during her illness. Also thanks to the Marie Curie Nurse who cared for her on her final night at home.
Thanks to Curran’s Bakery for the refreshments afterwards and to the Committee for the use of St Finlough’s Hall.
Finally, thanks to all at W. J. O’Brien and Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral.
Although it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of the family's deep appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for the intentions of all.
Elizabeth’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Finlough’s Church, Ballykelly on Saturday 10th December 2022 at 6 pm. The mass can be viewed online via the church webcam.
