Elizabeth Mary ‘Betty’ DUNCAN

Duncan, Elizabeth Mary known as ‘Betty’ died after a short illness, peacefully at her home at 180 Gardiners Cross Road Drumderg, Tempo on 7th April 2025. A much-loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The family of the late Betty Duncan - Elizabeth, Lynette, Cyril and Zelda – along with their families, wish to express their heartfelt thanks and acknowledge the loving support we received since Betty’s illness and sympathy shown to us since Betty’s sad passing. For those who called at the home, telephoned, sent cards and letters, sent messages, gifts and those who attended the wake and funeral service.

Special thanks to family members, friends, neighbours and Scotts Bakery who brought food.

A sincere thank you to the staff at Altnagelvin Hospital, Nurses at Brookeborough/Tempo/Lisnaskea Surgery, Palliative Care Nurses, Marie Curie Nurses, The Rapid Response Team, the Carers and Ronan & staff at Tempo Pharmacy for their care and attention over recentweeks and a special note of thanks to Rev Canon Maurice Armstrong for his pastoral care to Betty since her illness and for conducting a very warm and personal funeral service.

Also, a special thank you to the readers, Matthew Irvine and Lewis Irvine (Betty’s Grandsons), Harry Bolton (Betty’s Great Grandson)and John Duncan (Betty’s Brother-in-law), Daryl Simpson, (Betty’s Nephew) for his beautiful singing and for playing the organ and also the Church Wardens for opening the church.

Would like to thank the neighbours for controlling the traffic when the funeral was passing. A thank you to Ian McCutcheon & Son (grave diggers) for preparing the grave.

Thank you to Lisa Carrothers and staff from Forge Lane, Lisbellaw for providing the funeral tea. Thanks to everyone who made donations to Air Ambulance NI.

Our gratitude also goes out Marcus Madill and his staff (Funeral Directors) for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.
