Emma Mallon - Derryhaw Road, Middletown
Emma’s Parents Cathy and Raymond, Sisters Carrie and Lisa, brothers in law, nieces and nephew would like to thank all those who sympathised with them following their recent tragic bereavement.
We would firstly would like to thank the emergency services who attended the scene on Sunday 24th March and all who attended over the coming days. We thank you for the care shown to all the victims of the crash. We would like to personally thank our police liaison officers they showed the upmost professionalism and dignity in the hardest of circumstances and they went over and above to help us as a family even by making sure they done traffic control for the funeral. We thank you dearly.
Sincere thanks to all who called at the house, sent mass and sympathy cards, telephone calls and messages and for all the local businesses who sent food over the wake period, Eddie & the staff at Rumour Coffee, Martin & Patricia of Hughes Commercial Bar, Carmel and Martin of Braeside Stores Clontibret Stephen and Donna Mullan of Mullan’s Spar and Cordelias Chip shop, it was all greatly appreciated.
We extend our gratitude to our family and neighbours who prepared the road for parking at the wake, Derry’s Furniture Annaghmore for providing the seats and Madden Community Centre for the use of their equipment for the wake. And for all who made tea and served sandwiches etc.
A special thanks to Fr Sean Moore whose presence over this last few weeks has been a great comfort to the whole family, we will never be able to thank him enough for the continued support and the beautiful funeral mass which was a beautiful tribute to Emma. Thanks very much to Fr Sean O’Neill for his contribution to Emma’s funeral mass and for calling over the wake period.
We were grateful for Aidan Mallon and Middletown GAA for arranging the parking at St John’s Chapel for the funeral mass and to Paddy Mone and the locals of Madden for arranging the parking in Madden for the burial.
We thank Stephen, Donna, Gail and all the staff at Mullan’s Spar for the support over the wake and funeral period. We all comforted each other in tragic circumstances and we will be forever thankful for their contribution to Emma’s funeral in the carrying of symbols, reading of the readings and prayers and the moving Guard of Honor at both the Chapel and grave yard.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to Catherine and Dermot for the beautiful music and singing in the chapel. To Ann and Philip of Armagh Blooms for the beautiful flowers for the roadside, wake and funeral and for the continued emotional support. To Brian Nugent the grave digger who prepared the grave and to Martin McCann for preparing the chapel for the funeral mass.
To Hugo & Sharon at JJ McArdle & Sons Funeral Directors, we are eternally grateful for the emotional support and the way the professional manner in which the funeral proceedings were handled. Nothing was too much to ask and you handled everything with dignity and respect for Emma.
As it is impossible to thank each person individually we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.
