We the family of the late Eugene O’Brien wish to express our sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation to all those who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement. To all those who called at the house, sent Mass and sympathy cards, brought food and flowers and attended the funeral, please accept our sincere thanks.
A special thank you to our family, friends and neighbours who worked tirelessly to help at our father’s wake.
Our grateful thanks to the many people who cared for our father with great compassion during his illness, especially the doctors at Aberfoyle Surgery, the District Nursing Staff based at Shantallow Health Centre , Foyle Hospice Home Care nursing team, the doctors and nursing staff at Ward 25, Altnagelvin Hospital and our father’s Carers from North West Care.
A special word of thanks also to our Parish Priest, Fr Michael Canny, PP for his pastoral and spiritual support to our father during his illness. Sincere thanks to Fr Michael, Fr John Forbes and Deacon Stephen Ward who celebrated the Funeral Mass with a loving tribute of our father’s life and to Erin Carlin for enhancing the Mass with her beautiful singing.
Grateful thanks to W.J. O’Brien & Son Ltd Funeral Directors, who carried out the funeral arrangements with dignity, care and attention.
As it is not possible to thank everyone personally, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.
Eugene’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 19th August, 2023 at 7pm in St Columb’s Church, Chapel Road, Derry.
