We regret to inform you of the passing of Father Brendan McKeefry (Sacramento, California & formerly Tamneyrankin, Craigavole, Co.Derry).
Fr Brendan entered eternal life on 22nd June 2026, following 59 years of faithful priestly ministry in the Dioceses of Leeds and Sacramento, California.
N.B. Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Craigavole followed by interment with his parents in the cemetery adjoining the Church of St. John the Baptist, Granaghan. (DATES & TIMES TO BE CONFIRMED).
Father McKeefry was preceded in death by his parents, Michael McKeefry and Mary Catherine (née McKenna), brothers Patrick Joseph (PJ), Michael, and sister, Gertrude Ward. He is survived by brothers John and Peter, and his sister, Mary Kneeland, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Sacramento on Wednesday 1st July 2026 and can be livestreamed at 19:00 (GMT) on the link below.
