The wife Anna, son Aaron, and extended family circle of the late Gabriel Maguire R.I.P. wish to thank all who sympathised, supported and prayed for them at the time of Gabriel's death.
We thank all who called at our home, and to all near and far who telephoned, brought and sent Mass Cards, Sympathy Cards, letters of condolence, flowers, wreaths, gifts and food.
Thanks to those who attended the wake and Gabriel's funeral, and the many who joined us on the webcam. To all who travelled long distances to be with us during this difficult time, we are most grateful.
We were greatly moved by the number of friends and neighbours, who lined the route to pay their respects, as they awaited the arrival of Gabriel's remains at his home, and again on the morning of the funeral, as they escorted Gabriel to Holy Cross Church.
A special word of thanks to Canon Jimmy McPhillips for celebrating Gabriel's Funeral Mass and for his moving Homily, and also, to those who did the Readings, Prayers of the Faithful, Offertory Procession and the Eucharistic Ministers. Thank you especially to those who carried the coffin.
Thank you to Karen McElroy for the beautiful music and song, which enhanced the Funeral Liturgy, and to the Sacristan Jim McElroy.
We appreciated Doctor Guettee and Doctor Mulligan, and staff past and present of Devenish Practice, for their professional care to Gabriel over the years, and Paul Hughes Pharmacist and Staff, Hughes Pharmacy, Enniskillen and Newtownbutler. Our thanks also to Neurologists, Doctor McKinley and Doctor McMonagle.
Sincere thanks to Nurse Loretta McCarron for her care and support to Gabriel and Anna during a particularly difficult time. Gabriel greatly appreciated the staff and his friends in Drumcoo Day Centre, their Transport staff and Fermanagh Community Rural Transport staff.
Our thanks to the NI Ambulance Service, and to the driver and paramedics who took Gabriel and Anna to the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen on 5 November 2023. Our deepest appreciation for the excellent care and kindness shown to both Gabriel and our family by the Medical and Nursing Staff, Palliative Care Team, Nursing Auxiliaries, Clerical, Domestic, and Canteen staff, of Ward 8 of the South West Acute Hospital.
We will be forever grateful to Canon Jimmy McPhillips, Fr Raymond Donnelly and Fr Brian D'Arcy who anointed Gabriel in hospital, and Sr Rosa Wang who each provided pastoral, spiritual and religious support to Gabriel and Anna.
We greatly appreciate the kindness and support given by Swift and McCaffrey, Funeral Directors. Our thanks to them for their attention to detail and for the professional and dignified way Oliver and Leo carried out the funeral arrangements, and to Martin and Nicky for preparing Gabriel's final resting place.
Thanks to David Morrison, General Manager, and Staff of the Killyhevlin Hotel, for the Refreshments provided after the Funeral.
Gabriel and Anna greatly appreciated the friendship, kindness and practical help offered by their good neighbours in Farranascullogue, Aghalurcher and Moughley over the years, including that of Brendan and Bernadette Fitzpatrick, Killian and Stephenie Donaghy, Paddy and Carmel Owens, Barry and Ann McGorman, the Collins Family, and Miri Osborne. Special thanks to Ann Prunty, Kilmore Green, Lisnaskea who has also been a very kind and thoughtful friend to Anna over the years.
We are greatly indebted to Nora, Margaret, Kitty and Lorna McManus, and Brendan and Bernadette Fitzpatrick for being there for Anna during Gabriel's illness. We thank them also for facilitating transport to and from the hospital, and working tirelessly throughout the wake.
At the risk of excluding anyone who helped in any way during our sad and difficult time, please accept this as a token of our appreciation to all. We want you to know that your love and ongoing support is greatly appreciated, and may Gabriel's memory live on in your hearts and minds for ever.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Gabriel is greatly missed and fondly remembered by his wife, son, brothers, sisters, Aunt Mary Lynch, sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours and the entire family circle.
Gabriel's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church, Lisnaskea on Sunday, 18 February 2024 at 11am.
