The death has occurred of:
Geraldine (Gella) McKEOWN (née Culhane)
Drapersfield Nursing Home and previously Sperrin Court, Limekiln Lane, Cookstown, on Monday 9th November 2020, peacefully. Beloved wife of the late Dominic (died 1983), devoted mother of Paul, Declan and Aidan, loving sister of Bernadette, Paddy, Austin, Marie and Nuala and great friend and beloved sister-in-law of Margo. Sadly missed also by Marian, Blanaid and Sergio, and by grandchildren Anna, Rosie, Aisling, Caoimhe and Emmet, by the extended McKeown, Kopieczek, Devlin and Guilding families, and by friends and neighbours who have held a special place for Geraldine in their hearts, and whom Geraldine loved very dearly in return.
We are indebted to Caroline and the two Patricias from Sperrin Court who befriended and cared for Mum and gave her love and laughter in a home from home. And a heartfelt thankyou to the staff at Drapersfield House Nursing Home, who, through their care, kindness and humanity provided a safe and happy haven for Geraldine, and whose untiring attention in her last hours allowed her to slip away peacefully with her family around her.
Because of current COVID-19 restrictions, Geraldine’s funeral will be private for family and by invitation only.
Funeral mass will be webcast from Holy Trinity Church, Cookstown at 12.00 midday on Thursday.
Funeral cortège will leave Holy Trinity after Mass and will travel to Forthill Park Cemetery at Cemetery Road, Cookstown for burial.
