We, the family of Gerard O'Donnell, Ballygudden Road, Eglinton, would like to express our deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to our family, friends, neighbours and the members of the wider community who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our sad loss.

We were very touched by the presence of those who attended the funeral and wake, and by all the letters, cards and calls. Thank you to all who took time and effort to pay their respects to Gerard, and to those who sent donations for the Haematology Fund.

Sincere thanks to the teams at Eglinton Medical Practice and the Haematology Department of Altnagelvin who cared so well for Gerard for many years.

The requiem Mass gave us much comfort and we thank Fidelma, Robert and Aine for the beautiful music. Special thanks to PP Fr. Noel McDermott for his thoughtful sermon and spiritual support. Thanks also go to the church sacristans, carpark stewards, those who helped prepare the grave and to Shauna Lynch and Staff from Cassidy’s Shop for the refreshments after the funeral.

Our sincere thanks go to Kieran, Noeleen and the staff at WJ O'Brien & Son who guided us through a difficult situation with immense compassion and professionalism and who carried out the funeral arrangements with such dignity and respect.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a thank you to all.

Gerard's Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in Star of the Sea, Faughanvale, on Saturday 7th January at 5pm
