POWER Gerard R.I.P. – passed in the Ulster Hospital on 20th August 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of Nuala and loving father of Aisling, Gerard and Colm. Adored granda of Lorcan, Cillian, Ava, Amelia, Méabh and Aoife. Much loved father-in-law of Martin, Louise and Natalie.

Late of 1 Brooke Court.

Gerard’s remains will be reposing in his late residence from Friday, the family have requested that those wishing to pay their respects do so between 1pm and 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

Gerard’s remains will leave his late residence at 10.15am on Sunday to arrive at St Agnes’ Church for an 11am Requiem Mass. Burial to follow in Milltown Cemetery.

Gerard will be loved and missed always by his heartbroken wife, daughter, sons, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren and entire family circle. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. In Loving Memory of Gerard

On August 20, 2025, I lost not just a dear friend, but a guiding light in my life. Gerard was more than the hotel owner who welcomed me to Belfast in 2012—he became family. From the moment we met, a bond was formed that grew stronger with each passing year.

For thirteen years, Gerard stood by me and my family through every challenge, every joy, and every moment in between. He was a father-figure, a confidant, and a constant source of wisdom and warmth. His kindness knew no bounds, and his presence brought comfort and strength in ways words can hardly express.

Even in his final weeks, Gerard remained hopeful and full of love. We spoke about his health, his upcoming surgeries, and made a promise to meet again soon. That promise, though now unfulfilled in this life, remains etched in my heart.

Gerard’s passing is a profound loss—not just for me, but for everyone whose life he touched. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lives he uplifted, and the memories we hold dear.
