McKeown-Rasharkin
Veronica, Grainne, Damian and the family circle of the late Gerry R.I.P. wish to express their sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement.

A special thanks to Fr. Blayney and Fr McWilliams for their spiritual support, guidance, pastoral care; and for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass.

Thanks to the Gribbin Girls, Maebh McKeon and Gerry’s Granddaughter, Ana, for the beautiful music; as well as Fionnuala McGuckian and accompanying staff for providing refreshments after the funeral, and Wishy Drain who prepared the grave.

The family would also like to mention to the kind relatives, friends, neighbours and members of the wider community who helped them during this difficult time: the staff of McKeown Fine Foods for their Guard of Honour, those who messaged, sent cards, gave donations, gathered along the route to the Church, and attended the funeral. They are truly grateful.

They also express thanks to Kilrea Health Centre, Shields Pharmacy Kilrea, Gerry’s district nurse, Vicky, and the staff of Ward B3 in Antrim Area Hospital, all of whom contributed to Gerry’s medical care in his final months with expertise, dedication and empathy.

On Gerry’s behalf, the family would also like to pay tribute to his carers: Helen, Debbie, Meta, and Lauren. He was immensely grateful for their time, their care, their compassion and their friendship.

A final word of special thanks from the family to McKiernan & Sons Funeral Directors for their support and care. In particular the family wish to acknowledge that it would not have been possible for them to have provided Gerry with such a fitting and dignified celebration of his life without the professionalism and attention to detail with which McKiernan & Sons carried out their services.

The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.

The month mind Mass for Gerry will be celebrated on at in St. Mary’s Church, Rasharkin on Saturday 9th March 2024 at 6:30pm.
