The wife, daughters and sons of Seamus R.I.P would like to acknowledge the kind people who were involved in Seamus’s healthcare during his illness :-all the staff of Ward 2 North Belfast City Hospital & Consultant Surgeon Andrew Harris, the nursing staff of the Northwest Cancer Centre, Altnagelvin Ward 24 and the Endoscopy Unit, family friend Ann-Marie O’Dwyer, Dr Stewart Knox and Dr Peter Byrne and the staff of Feeny Health Centre, Feeny Pharmacy and Roe Pharmacy, the staff of Dungiven Health Centre and District Nursing Team especially Sister Margaret Kelly who went above and beyond her duty of care during Seamus’s final days.
Thank you to all Seamus’s close friends who visited him frequently since his illness over the past 6 months and during his final days - this meant a lot to him.
We thank everyone from near and far who took time to attend the wake in funeral home & the family home, brought Mass Cards & sympathy cards, left messages of condolences online, placed paper notices, sent text messages, phone calls and flowers and donated to Cancer Research.
To all our kind neighbours, friends and local businesses who brought gifts of food to the wake house.
Thank you to all the family members who helped serve tea during the busy wake.
Appreciation to everyone who came to Seamus’s funeral or paid their respects in anyway.
We thank Fr Dermot McGirr P.P for visiting Seamus at home during his illness and for his attentiveness during his final days, we thank him for the lovely Holy Requiem Mass and his very fitting homily and prayers. Thank you to Fr Seamus Kelly for also visiting Seamus at home, his spiritual support and for concelebrating the Requiem Mass. To Fr David O’Kane for his presence and prayers also during the Requiem Mass and Msg Brian McCanny for his presence and prayers at the wake.
Gratitude to Marian, Sheagh, Rachel, and Stephen for reading at the Requiem Mass and to Joelene Grieve and Martin Kealey for the beautiful singing and music.
Sincere thanks to Margaret Carton the Church Sacristan, Shane McLaughlin & Kevin kelly for carefully preparing the grave, Cathal’s flowers for the lovely flower arrangements, Martin Myles for helping with the parking at the funeral home, Eugene McDaid, Declan O’Neill, Sean O’Neill, Canice Murphy and Brendan Murphy for managing the wake traffic and shuttle bus service.
Heartfelt thanks to Margaret Davis for presenting Seamus so peacefully and a sincere thank you to Eugene , John and Paddy for officiating and carrying out Seamus’s funeral so perfectly.
Thank you to all at Peach & Passion cafe for the beautiful refreshments after the funeral and to the ladies of Fincairn Hall who helped to serve the refreshments.
Finally we thank Anthony McGuckian and the workforce of AMG Contracts & Utilities for their touching guard of honour at Seamus’s funeral and the special tributes they made in memory of him.
As it is impossible to name everyone individually we hope you will accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deepest appreciation to all who sympathised with us or helped and supported us in anyway.
A dear husband, father, Papa, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, friend & colleague who will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed.
