Called home, 26th May 2025 peacefully at his home with family by his side.

Dearly loved husband of Mary. Loving and devoted dad to Stuart, Catherine, Christopher and the late Aaron. Father-in-law to Gareth and Erin. Proud and loving Granda to David, Justin, Sophia, Jude, Alex, Gracie, Axel and Owen. Dearly loved brother to Jim and wife Tara, sister Julie and husband Lee and their families.

A service of thanksgiving for Hugh’s life will be held in his home, 18 Cragfergus Avenue, Carrickfergus on Monday 2nd June 2025 at 2.00 p.m. followed by interment in Victoria Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers if desired to N.I. Hospice c/o S & J Irvine Funeral Directors, 31-35 Irish Quarter South, Carrickfergus (Cheques made payable to the above charity please; card donations via telephone on 028 9335 1540 Mon-Fri 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Cash donations are also welcome).

Hugh will be loved always by his entire family circle.

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, He gently closed his weary eyes and whispered “Peace be Thine”.
