Hugh Colton, 2nd February, 2023
The Family of the late Hugh Colton would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to everyone who supported and prayed for us through the recent bereavement of our dear Uncle.
We sincerely thank our friends, Hugh’s neighbours, wider family, and community who attended the wake and Funeral Mass. We were overwhelmed and appreciate the many Mass cards, sympathy cards and messages of support sent to us.
A special word of thanks to Rev. Fr. Eugene Hasson P.P. for his spiritual guidance and the lovely Requiem Mass. Thank you to all who participated in the Mass including Fiona Garrity the sacristan.
We would especially wish to thank Louise Kirwan and Marie Campbell for the beautiful singing and musical accompaniment, both of which really enriched the Mass.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jay Maguire, Funeral Director and his team for the dignified and sensitive way the funeral arrangements were carried out and the gravediggers who prepared Hugh’s final resting place.
We would like to extend a special word of thanks to all those who cared for Hugh, especially to the nieces and nephews who visited him every day particularly over the past few years. We also wish to acknowledge and thank The Strule Practice, the Community Occupational Therapists, the District Nursing Team, Private carers, and Hugh’s social worker, Claire Boyle for the care and attention they provided to Hugh over the last few years.
The family would also like to express a particular message of thanks to the staff at Hillcrest nursing home for looking after him since he moved there in April 2022.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
Hugh’s Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Monday 27th February in the Sacred Heart Church, Omagh at 7.30pm.
