We, the family of the late Áine Donaghy, Limavady, wish to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all our kind relatives, friends and neighbours on the recent loss of our beloved daughter and sister.

Thank you to those who attended the wake and funeral, brought food, sent Mass and Sympathy cards, letters, social media condolences, wreaths and floral tributes and to all who helped in any way. We are deeply grateful for all your support and kindness.

A special thanks to the staff of Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children where Áine attended for 14 years. Also, a special thanks to the staff of the Children’s Community Nursing team, Ward 6 Altnagelvin Hospital, Rossair Family Practice and Gordons Chemist Limavady who looked after Áine throughout her illness.

To the doctors and nurses who cared for Áine in a compassionate and dignified manner in her final days we have a heartfelt gratitude to you.

Sincere thanks to Mgr. Bryan McCanny for his prayers, support and for the beautiful Requiem Mass. We thank Gregory, Lisa and Gaelscoil Léim an Mhadaidh for the beautiful music which added so much to the Mass and thank you also to the Bethany Ladies Committee who provided the refreshments after the funeral.

We would also like to thank the staff, pupils and parents of Rossmar School and Gaelscoil Léim an Mhadaidh for providing a guard of honour at the funeral and for the many happy days Áine spent at school.

Many thanks to all who gave donations in lieu of flowers to the Children’s Cancer Unit Charity (Belfast).

And finally thank you to W.J O’Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton who carried out the funeral arrangements with dignity, empathy, care and attention.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of the family’s deep and sincere appreciation.

Áine’s Month Mind Mass will be celebrated in Christ the King Church, Limavady, on Saturday 16th September 2023 at 4.30pm. Everyone welcome.
