The death has occurred of:
Jim DOHERTY
We, the family of the late Jim Doherty, would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who sympathised with us in our time of grief at the loss of my dearest husband, our father, grandfather and friend.
We would like to thank Fr Daniel McFaul and Fr John McDevitt for their spiritual ministry to Jim, during his illness, both in Ward 31 Altnagelvin and in the Foyle Hospice. Your kind words and prayers brought Jim and our family so much comfort at this very difficult time.
A special thank you to Fr Daniel McFaul for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass and to family members and friends for the music and singing which enhanced the liturgy so reverently.
We are so grateful to all those who attended Jim's wake to pay their respects, brought or sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers, travelled, attended or watched the Requiem Mass online and made donations to Foyle Hospice.
Thank you to the staff of Ward 31 Altnagelvin and Foyle Hospice who provided Jim with specialist and compassionate care. We are indebted to you for your kindness. May God bless you always as you continue to care for those in need.
We would finally like to express our gratitude to W J O'Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton, for the respectful and supportive service provided as they guided us through the funeral arrangements.
Jim's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, Steelstown, on Friday 16th February 2024 at 7:00pm. Light refreshments will be served in the chapel function room following the Mass.
