Acknowledgement

The family of the late Jimmy Mc Fadden (19 Drumleck Drive, Shantallow) would like to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness we have received following our sad loss. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who attended the wake and funeral Mass, provided food, offered Mass and sympathy cards and made donations to Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK.

Thank you to daddy’s neighbours and friends in Shantallow for their lifetime of friendship and care to him.

We offer special thanks to daddy’s carers from North West Care and Bryson Care who were so attentive to his needs over the past 2 years. Thanks also to the GPs and staff of Bridge St. Medical Practice who cared for daddy throughout his life. Thank you to the District Nursing Team, Shannon Mc Guinness (Parkinsons Nurse), Ciara Devine (Social Worker), Julie Heaney (Occupational Therapist ) for their professional care for daddy. Special thanks also to the paramedics from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service who attended daddy in his final moments.

The family would like to extend our thanks to daddy’s friends and colleagues from Ulsterbus for their support to daddy and our family over the years. Thanks also to daddy’s many friends from the football and refereeing community in the North West and beyond. Thanks to the community of Burt Co. Donegal for their friendship to daddy over the years and for the beautiful words posted on their community page.

A special word of thanks to Fr John Mc Devitt of Our Lady of Lourdes, Steelstown for celebrating the beautiful funeral Mass and to Fr Joe Gormley and Fr Raymond Mc Cullagh for their friendship and pastoral care to daddy. Thanks to Erin and Isobel for the prayerful music at the funeral Mass. Thanks also to Brian Hasson from Colmcille Pipe Band for leading daddy’s funeral cortege.

A final word of thanks to Kieran and the staff of W.J. O’Brien Funeral directors and the staff at the City Cemetery for the dignified and professional handling of daddy’s funeral and burial.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this notice as an expression of our sincere gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Jimmy’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Creggan on Tuesday 8th March at 7.30pm.
