Acknowledgement Notice for the late Joan McConville:
We, the family of the late Joan McConville (nee McDowell) would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, neighbours, all of you who travelled near and far to sympathise with and support us on the recent loss of our much-loved mum and aunt. We thank those who attended Joan’s wake and funeral, sent cards or messages, shared memories, brought floral arrangements, and kindly donated to Dementia UK.
Thanks to the staff of Carlingford Lodge Nursing Home and Daisy Hill Hospital for their dedication and the care they provided to Joan. Our gratitude to Dr Henry McLoughlin, Dr David Gaw and staff from Summer Hill Surgery for the ongoing support, friendship, and medical care they provided to Joan during her illness and in her final days.
A very sincere thank you to Fr Des Mooney for his pastoral care, for celebrating the Requiem Mass, and for delivering a meaningful eulogy reflecting on Joan’s life and for his words of comfort to those who mourn Joan’s passing, particularly her son Mark. Our thanks to Dermot McQuaid and Maria Flynn for the beautiful music.
Our sincere thanks to Cathal, Méabh, and all the staff of McAnulty Funeral Directors for their compassion and attentiveness to the family and for their dignified and respectful support, guidance and care in carrying out the arrangements for Joan’s wake and funeral arrangements.
We would like to sincerely thank Angela and the staff of Kilbroney Bar and Restaurant, Rostrevor for the lovely food after the funeral and for hosting our family and friends with warm and welcoming hospitality.
Joan's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated at 6.00pm on Saturday 4th July in St Mary's Star of the Sea, Rostrevor.
