Maria, Joseph, Aine, and the entire family circle of the late Joe Melarkey wish to express their sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised with them during their recent sudden bereavement.

We thank our families, friends and neighbours who helped us through this difficult time. Thanks to everyone who attended the wake, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, messages, and flowers. A special word of thanks to our neighbours and friends, Murphy’s on the Green, the brighter Ballymagorry development group, Sysco and Jaspers for providing the beautiful food during the wake.

A special word of thanks to the emergency services team who quickly attended to Joe in his home, the A&E Dept. and the staff of the ICU Dept. at Altnagelvin Area Hospital who cared for Joe with such compassion, dignity and dedication. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the Organ Transplant Team for their support and for their dignified and professional manner, we are deeply grateful.

We thank Fr. Sweeney for his spiritual guidance, prayers and celebration of the requiem mass. Thanks to everyone who participated in the funeral mass, including the readers and beautiful music by Justin McGurk. We the family were overwhelmed by the huge support from people gathered along the route to the Church and attended from near and far, we are truly grateful.

We thank the Quigley’s funeral directors for the personal, professional and caring manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and to the gravediggers who prepared Joe’s final resting place.

Thanks to Norma and Emma from Murphy’s on the Green in Strabane and to Joe’s employer Sysco for providing the lovely food following the funeral.

As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a small gesture of our sincere appreciation.
