The death has occurred of:
Joe O'DONNELL
The family of the late Joe O'Donnell (RIP) beloved husband of the late Dymphna (RIP) and the father of the late Joseph Junior (RIP) extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has sympathised and supported us during our recent bereavement.
Sincere thanks go to our extended family, neighbours and lifelong friends. Each of you has supported us in countless ways throughout this most difficult time. To those of you who brought food to us: Top Nosh, Sweeney's Centra and numerous friends, your kindness and generosity overwhelmed us.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake, sent cards, floral tributes, and for all of the loving and supportive messages that you posted via social media.
To the staff of Three Rivers Nursing Home; your dedication and compassion in caring for our Dad went above and beyond. We will be forever grateful to you. To the staff at the Grange Family Practice and to SWAH we thank you for caring for Dad.
To Fr. Eugene Hasson your spiritual support together with the beautiful Requiem Mass has meant so much to us, and we sincerely thank you. St Eugene's Brass and Reed Band was a huge part of our Dad's life. He was a musician who played with the band for 72 years. He was honoured to have become the President of the Band when he ceased playing for them. The musical tributes played for Dad by St Eugene's Brass and Reed Band during the Mass, and later at the graveside, were both beautiful and touching. We extend our sincere thanks to the Band.
We also give thanks to James McShane and associate for the sensitive musical contribution during Mass. Our thanks go to the Sacristan Declan, lay ministers and all those who prepared the Church and who helped at the Mass. Sincere thanks to Maguire Funeral Service whose guidance, support, kindness and professionalism ensured the most dignified funeral for our Dad. Our gratitude and appreciation is also extended to the gravediggers who prepared Dad's final resting place. To the staff of the Coach Inn for having served the funeral lunch, we thank you.
It is impossible for us as a family to individually thank everyone. Please therefore accept a sincere token of appreciation for all the support you have extended to us as a family.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered up for your personal intentions. To conclude; Joe O'Donnell (RIP) was a very loved father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. Most recently great-grandfather to newborn Cahir Joseph who was born on 15th May 2025. All of us were incredibly proud of you Dad, the musician, the master-baker, the 'go to man. Thank you Dad for a lifetime of love and memories from: Concepta (Gerard), Damian (Karon), Ben (Anne), the late Joseph (Valerie), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces Nicola, Julie, sister-in-law Mary.
Month's Mind Mass on 20th June at 7.30pm in Sacred Heart Church.
