John Anthony (Jackie) STEWART

John Anthony Stewart known as Jackie to family and friends passed away peacefully in Daisy Hill on 30th April 2025.

Jackie was the husband of the late Betty Stewart, father to Ruth and Jacqueline, father-in -law to Adrian Magowan, cherished grandfather to Jessica and great- grandfather to Charlie, Fletcher, Brysen and Max.

A private funeral took place at his own request and was conducted by Pastor Ian Wilson, Rathfriland Baptist Church.

Jackie trained as a male nurse and worked in the ETU in Craigavon Hospital until he retired.

Jackie was a very talented musician, and he was well known for playing the piano and organ in different churches and venues throughout Ireland.

Jackie enjoyed travelling and both he and his late wife Betty enjoyed cruising to different countries around the world.

The family wish to thank the staff of female medical Daisy Hill Hospital also to Dr Ramsey’s practice, the Group Surgery Banbridge for all their care and support.

Thanks to the staff in Spelga Mews for all the kindness and care showed to Jackie during his time living at Spelga Avenue, also a sincere gratitude to Pastor Ian Wilson for conducting the funeral service and thank you to James Minnis & Son funeral directors Banbridge for a very efficient service provided.
