LAFFERTY

JOHN MARTIN (SEAN)

Died 21 January 2023

The family of the late Sean Lafferty (RIP) would like to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and sympathised with us during our recent sad bereavement. We will always be grateful to all of our relatives, friends, neighbours and work colleagues for their kindness, help and support shown to us during this difficult time. A sincere word of thanks to all those who attended the removal of our brother's remains, his Requiem Mass and interment in the City Cemetery and to all who were unable to attend the Requiem Mass and followed the Service online. Many thanks also to all those who attended Sean's wake and sent Mass Cards, Sympathy Cards and floral tributes.

A special thank you to Father Patrick Lagan who along with Father Kieran O'Doherty and Father Michael Spain OCD (Termonbacca), celebrated such a dignified and touching Requiem Mass which was a great source of comfort to our family and many thanks also to all who participated in the Service in any way, including Claire Doherty and Aiden Watkins for the beautiful singing and music. Many thanks to Father Gerard Mongan for attending our brother at the time of his passing and to all of the Emergency Services personnel for their help and support during that difficult time. Many thanks also to Father Michael McCaughey for his prayers and support to our family during Sean's wake.

We would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of Cityview Medical Practice for their help and care shown to Sean over the past number of years and to all of the Medical Professionals in Altnagelvin Hospital who treated Sean at various times in the past. A special word of thanks also to Bradley and McLaughlin, Funeral Directors, for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out all of the funeral arrangements which was much appreciated by our family.

We would like to thank all of Sean's friends, many of whom attended his wake and funeral, with whom he had such good times over the years and many thanks also to all of Sean's neighbours in Beechwood Avenue, Glen Road and the Hawthorns for their kindness and friendship to him. In particular, we would like to thank the late Denis (RIP), the late John (RIP) and Paul Grant for their kindness to Sean during his time in Glen Road and to Bridie and the late Brian (RIP) O'Reilly and all of the O'Reilly family whose friendship and loyalty to Sean from his earliest years in Beechwood through to his passing will always be much appreciated by our family.

We hope that this acknowledgement will be acceptable to everyone as a token of our sincere thanks and appreciation and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all of your intentions.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for him.

A Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated for Sean in St. Eugene's Cathedral at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, 28 February 2023.
